My name is Tierney Vaughan, I am an Advanced Yoga Teacher (RYT 200 and RYT 300) specializing in Vinyasa yoga. Although I started practicing yoga over 30 years ago, only in the past 10 years did I begin to understand that working on the movement elements of yoga (asanas) was a very small part of what yoga is. I began to appreciate how a complete practice involves a balance between the mind, body and soul. I incorporate the spiritual aspects of yoga including pranayama (breath work) and guided meditation along with the asanas (movements, poses or shapes) in my teaching.

My expertise in Pilates brings an alignment-focused approach to my teaching. Along with alignment, I target muscle and joint strength, stability, and lengthening. When working with private clients, I use a combination of strength, flexibility, and mobility work to enhance their practice, protect against injuries, and promote healthy aging. After living in N.Y.C. and Park City, Utah, I moved to Vermont in 2015. I live with my amazing partner Derek and our rescue red heeler, Frankie (also wonderful!). I like exploring the trails with Frankie, paddleboarding on our beautiful lakes, and experimenting with vegan recipes. All three of us enjoy all that Vermont has to offer including skiing, hiking, trail running, and paddle boarding (OK Frankie has not mastered this skill yet… yet!).
